Introduction Home
On Sunday June 30 2002 we walked from Lulworth Cove to Kimmeridge Bay along the coast. The weather was fine, but very windy which made it feel a bit cold, especially when we stopped. We saw lovely views all along the coast, and even some of the army ranges behind. Our one small adventure was when we came across a tired racing pigeon at Worbarrow Bay where a group of volunteers was cleaning the beach of debris. At Kimmeridge, we passed by the old oil well that is still rocking to and fro, extracting oil from the deposit.
We visited Barrington Court on Monday. The house itself appeared to be a show house for Stuart, the historic house restorers. However, the gardens were lovely. Most interesting was the apple orchard, where every tree appeared to be smothered in mistletoe. After visiting the cottage garden that is still used for its original purpose, we briefly toyed with the idea of turning our lawn to vegetables; but sensibly decided that we were not going to spend every waking hour worrying about parasites.
